The organizers of BLAST continue to expand the geographic reach of their competitions. In 2027, the Open series will visit Mongolia —the second Open tournament of the year will take place in the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, from May 10 to 23.
The participants will compete for a total prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament will feature 16 teams: 11 teams will receive direct invitations based on their positions in Valve’s world rankings, while the remaining five spots will be decided through regional qualifiers in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
For BLAST, this will mark its first full-scale entry into Mongolia’s top-tier esports scene. The company has previously operated in the country—in 2025, it co-organized a qualifier for the BLAST Open London.
BLAST noted that hosting the tournament in Ulaanbaatar is part of its 2027 strategy, which calls for bringing major esports events to new regions. Previously, the organizers also confirmed that events would be held in Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malta.
2027 Season Schedule: Tournaments will be held in five countries
BLAST has already drawn up a preliminary schedule of its events for 2027. The new season of the competition series will span several continents—from Europe to Asia and South America—and one of the main new additions will be a tournament in Mongolia.
The year for BLAST will kick off in Malta, where the first season of BLAST Bounty will take place from January 11 to 24. The organizers will then head to Singapore — the BLAST Open Singapore is scheduled for March 15–28.
In May, the Open Series will make its debut in Mongolia. The tournament in the country’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, will take place from May 10 to 23 and will be one of the key events of the season.
After the summer break, BLAST will return with the second season of Bounty, scheduled for August 30–September 12. The fall portion of the schedule will continue in Brazil: the BLAST Open Rio will take place October 4–17 in Rio de Janeiro.
The season will conclude with the BLAST Rivals event, which will take place November 8–14. Thus, in 2027, BLAST will focus on new regions and hosting major tournaments outside of traditional esports venues.
