BLAST and the Mongolian Association have signed a three-year agreement

Mongolia will become one of the countries where BLAST will hold its tournaments for several years in a row. The organizer has signed a three-year agreement with MESA—the country’s official esports association.

The agreement calls for tournaments to be held in Ulaanbaatar every year from 2027 to 2029. MESA announced this on its social media channels after signing the agreement last week.

During a visit to Mongolia, BLAST Vice President of Business Development and Market Expansion James Woolard finalized an agreement with the local association. Ulaanbaatar was chosen as the venue for the competition due to the popularity of Counter-Strike in the country, the active local community, and the development of esports infrastructure.

The first of the planned tournaments will take place from May 10 to 23, 2027, and will feature 16 teams. However, the schedule for the next two tournaments remains unknown—BLAST has not yet announced the dates for the 2028 and 2029 tournaments.

However, back in July, BLAST revealed some of its plans for 2027. At that time, the organizer announced that one of its open tournaments next season would take place in Asia. It was also reported that Ulaanbaatar would host a Tier 1 tournament, meaning Mongolia will host several major CS events at once.
