Team Liquid announced its first roster move ahead of the new season— Roland “ultimate” Tomkovyak has left the starting lineup and been moved to the bench. This move clears a spot on the team for a new player in the sniper position.
Polyak joined Liquid in July 2024 and spent about two years with the club. During that time, he played 331 maps in Ultimate, finishing his tenure with the team with an average rating of 1.02.
However, the arrival of the 22-year-old AWPer failed to drastically change Liquid’s results. The team was already in a difficult situation before his transfer, and during the Polish player’s time with the team, it never managed to win a major international trophy. The team’s best results were third-place finishes at the CS Asia Championships 2025 and the Birch Cup 2025.
During his time with Liquid, ultimate competed in four Major tournaments. His best result came at the PW Shanghai Major, where the team reached the quarterfinals. Later, Liquid were eliminated in the third stage twice—at the Majors in Austin and Budapest—and were also eliminated in the first stage of IEM Cologne.
Liquid is now looking for a new AWPer to take ultimate’s spot in the starting five before the start of the new season.
