Maincast Sport was among the winners of the 9th BigData Awards

Maincast Sport received a professional award in its very first year of television broadcasting. The channel, which launched in the fall of 2025, won the “Debut” category at the 9th BigData Awards. At the same time, the award marked another milestone for the Maincast team, which has been developing sports and esports broadcasting in Ukraine since 2018.

The BigData Awards are based not on expert evaluations or voting, but on actual content consumption metrics. Every year, the Big Data UA rating agency analyzes viewership data for Ukrainian TV channels on OTT and IPTV platforms to identify the leaders in various categories.

Since its launch, Maincast Sport has built a substantial sports lineup for Ukrainian audiences. The channel has secured the rights to broadcast a number of top-tier competitions, including NBA games, the Spanish Soccer Cup, the Turkish Super League, the Brazilian Série A, the Copa Libertadores, as well as MotoGP and NASCAR races.

The channel’s growth has demonstrated that the strategy to create a modern sports broadcaster is working. As Maxim Krippa, CEO of ARS Capital, noted, the team will continue to invest in high-quality sports content and the development of new formats for Ukrainian viewers.

“This award is an important sign that we’re moving in the right direction. There is still a lot of work ahead: we will expand our sports content, develop our in-house production, and create products that meet the expectations of the Ukrainian audience,” said Maksym Krippa.

The success of this approach is also evidenced by the results of Maincast’s other projects. At the end of last month , the studio’s Ukrainian-language broadcast of the CS2 Major set a record, garnering 11 million views. This served as yet another confirmation of the audience’s high interest in high-quality Ukrainian-language sports and esports content.

From Broadcasts to Our Own Sports Ecosystem

Maincast Sport is distributed by the Starlight Media media group. The channel is part of the asset portfolio of Maxim Krippa’s holding company and is being developed as one of the key pillars in the creation of a modern sports media platform.

Maincast’s exclusive experience in sports broadcasting remains a distinct area of development. Maincast Sport became the first Ukrainian sports broadcaster to provide live commentary on NBA and Spanish Basketball League games directly from the arenas. At the same time , the company continues to expand its esports division, having covered major international tournaments for many years—including The Major and IEM Katowice— with a team of commentators on-site at the competition venues.

In addition to live broadcasts, Maincast Sport is building its own content ecosystem —featuring analysis shows, podcasts, and original programs—that help viewers delve deeper into the world of sports.

Another step in this direction was the development of digital products. The launch of the Maincast.TV app has expanded the options available to users: they can now watch live broadcasts, match recordings, and keep track of the broadcast schedule in a convenient format. Support for Chromecast and AirPlay has made it easier to view content on large screens.
